Life or Death Love Confession is the 138th chapter of the UQ Holder! manga.
Summary[]
After having their confession rejected by Negi, Yue and Nodoka calm down from the sudden heartbreak and speculate about the person that Negi is in love with and is now heading to confess. Nevertheless, the girls eventually cry out to relieve the sadness of giving up their unrequited love toward their teacher.
At 3-A's classroom, Chisame is met by Negi as she contemplates on joining her classmate in their last flower-viewing before they head off to each of their own future. However, Chisame quickly takes a notice of Negi's unnatural action and tries to flee the class in order to avoid the upcoming inevitable, only to hear Negi confesses that he is in love with her, much to her shock. After calming down, Chisame proceeds to give Negi a piece of her mind regarding the fact that there had been no hint for his affection toward her, and that there are more amazing and wonderful girls than her by his side that still love him. Despite Chisame's words, Negi reaffirms his affection toward her for that he had made up his mind after visiting the "priest" (Misora), and no matter what he still likes her the best, much to Chisame's embarrassment and frustration. Though Chisame herself is secretly happy to receive Negi's confession, she chooses to decline his affection before leaving, citing that she is "not into kids" and he that should try again in five years.
Seeing Negi crying out, the majority of 3-A Class pop onto the scene and chastise Chisame for being all high and mighty, which Ayaka in particular is extremely angry toward her for refusing to accept Negi's precious confession. Believing that Chisame tramples upon their unrequited love and Negi's feeling, the girls proceed to go on full battle mode and force Chisame to apologize by marrying Negi at once, while Yuna and the cheerleaders instead decide to comically seduce Negi so that he can forget Chisame and move on. The tomfoolery is quickly stopped by the arrival of Asuna who scolds the girls for not treating Negi's lifetime event seriously, and carries him out of the class so that he could sort out his own feeling. Shortly after the class has cool down, Chisame explains that she rejected his confession because Negi still have a long life ahead of him, and he shouldn't throw away his future just because of a girl that is not noteworthy like her, though the class believes it's because she is confident that Negi's heart will always be on her no matter how much the time passes.
The memory then skips forward five years later on the Agartha Asteroid, as Negi and his company prepare to face off against his father Nagi who is possessed by the Mage of the Beginning, with Negi proclaims that he will definitely save him.
